The first few years after we retired, Bob and I spent most of our time traveling. In 2008 we moved to Skopje, Macedonia, where Bob served as Peace Corps Country Director and I taught in a small international school. We came home in January of 2009 because I had breast cancer. Kudos to Kaiser--I am well and 5 years cancer free. In 2011 we moved to Almaty, Kazakhstan, where Bob was Peace Corps Director again and I taught at a small private college, KIMEP, for a year and a half. I loved my work with students and teachers there and was sad to leave. Since Kazakhstan, we have been home in Pt. Richmond--except when we are visiting Matt and his family in Chapel Hill or taking trips. Last fall we walked the Camino in Spain for the second time, but this time started in LePuy and walked 1000 miles. In 61 days! Sometime soon we plan to take some long walks in England. I still read a lot (always The New Yorker) and see lots of films. And I follow various series on TV--Breaking Bad, True Detective, Broadchurch, Downton Abbey. Finally and probably not surprisingly, I still believe that even your sandwich is political.
